31/10/2011 Hundred Acres Park gets a makeover
A scheme to revamp most of Oxford's play areas has entered the home straight as the 51st playground was officially opened in Cowley.
Oxford City Council has spent two years and £2.5m refurbishing and replacing play parks across the city, and aims to finish by April.
On Friday, children poured into Hundred Acres Park off Hollow Way, to explore the latest playground.
25/08/2011 £30,000 Refurbishment for Pomfret Mead Park, Essex
A PARK is set to receive a £30,000 makeover as part of a planning agreement.
Old play equipment at the Pomfret Mead play area, off The Gore, Basildon, will be taken away and replaced with brand new swings, a slide, a rope ladder and a climbing net.
The money has come from Barratt Wilson Bowden, which is building 144 new homes on the site of the old swimming pool, car park and netball court at Gloucester Park.

10/08/2011 Mayor opens new playground at Merland Rise Recreation Ground
The new Mayor of Reigate and Banstead opened the new playground at Merland Rise Recreation Ground that was designed and installed by SMP Playgrounds.
Local school children from Epsom Downs Primary school, who voted for their favourite scheme from the shortlist of designs, also attended the opening ceremony. The refurbished playground caters for toddlers to children aged 13 and features a wide variety of equipment including the ever popular Titan.
10/08/2011 New Swings at Rouken Glen Park
Mum Marian Miller, whose nine-year-old Nina suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic muscle-wasting desiease, secured support from the local council and a £605 donation for new swings from the Teddy Bear Foundation.
The SMP's Mirage swing, made of heavy-duty moulded plastic with a high back is geared towards children with balance and muscle issues. Due to this donation the park has now twin swings so that disabled children can play together.
30/06/2011 Vandalised playgrounds swing back into action
CHILDREN in Cowley can finally get to grips with new equipment at a play area three months after vandals set fire to the facility.
A total of £53,000 was spent at the Dene Road playground to repair the vandalised items and improve the equipment and grounds.

A MUCH loved playground in Lower Wolvercote is the latest Oxford park to be revamped - a project by SMP.
The £39,000 upgrade at the site in Godstow Road includes a new cone climber, combination play frame, sprung see-saw and refurbished swings

09/05/2011 CSPA Conference - SMP Supports FSPA
SMP Supported the FSPA (Federation of Sports and Play Associations) in the Second Annual Convention for the CSPN (County Sports Partnership Network) on March 10th 2011.
The Convention was a hit - SMP provided an ARENA Omaha Skills Practice Section and the Convention Candidtaes underwent time trials to see who could score the highest number of points in a minute. A lot of fun was had by all. Follow this link for more information on the ARENA Omaha system:

4/5/2011 Playfair - SMP added a Demonstration Area!
SMP (Playgrounds) Ltd are delighted to announce that we have added a demonstration Area to Playfair 2011! The Demo Area will be located adjacent to the SMP stand on D3.
The stand will feature the new SMP Duel and the DNA Code01 from the Nexus range.
The stand will be fully installed - so come along and have a play!
3/5/2011 Falcon Close, Oxford is a hit with the Locals!
Play equipment at the run-down playground in Falcon Close has been replaced by Oxford City Council at
an estimated cost of £35,000.
The play area, designed for children under the age of six, is one of 87 across the city which the council is
refurbishing as part of a three-year improvement programme launched in 2009.
