Your Project Business Plan and Funding Applications need to show how you will deliver your project.
Potential funders will also want to know more about how you intend to look after your site and your play, sports or fitness equipment after it has been installed, before they agree to any funding or investment. They, like you, want to be confident from the outset about the long-term viability and security of your play space area.
They may, as part of their assessment of your bid, wish to know more about the play, sports or fitness products and equipment you intend to purchase, and how they will be maintained and serviced in the months and years ahead.
For this reason it is worthwhile including within your funding bids and business plans details about how you intend to future-proof your play space (site and equipment), and hence protect their investment once the project has been completed.

We work closely with voluntary and community groups helping them deliver innovative, inclusive and sustainable play space solutions and, owing to the depth and breadth of our services, provide customers with a ‘one-stop-shop’ and single point of contact for all their immediate and future needs.
Our ability to work from project conception through to project completion is useful information for community and voluntary groups, and for potential funding providers too.
A significant benefit working alongside SMP ensures that time and resources will not be spent (or wasted) dealing with a number of equipment and service providers, and that project efficiency and
effectiveness will not be compromised as a consequence.

When putting together your business plans and Funding Applications we believe that it is important to show that you have considered what happens after the project has been delivered.
a) Products and equipment – built to last.
It is useful to mention product/equipment warranties, guarantees and safety standards.
NB: All SMP products and equipment are durable and are built to last. The majority of products and parts we provide are manufactured in the UK and are supplied with a full manufacturer’s warranty and, in many instances, a life-time guarantee. All play, sports and fitness products are designed, built and comply to exacting UK, European and International standards.
b) Life time support.
It is useful to highlight how you intend to keep the play/sports development maintained and how and when site and equipment safety inspections will occur.
NB: SMP, working in conjunction with RSS Playmakers (visit www.rss-playmakers.co.uk website), has regional offices in the UK and these operational centres provide our customers with a range of after-sales services and support including:
- monthly, quarterly and annual inspections undertaken by our RPII qualified staff
- organising RoSPA inspections
- on-going maintenance and service of equipment including parts identification, delivery and installation).
